Thanking Our Veterans in a Special Way

(Franklin, GA) “Veterans know better than anyone else the price of freedom, for they’ve suffered the scars of war.  We can offer them no better tribute that to protect what they have won for us.”

President Ronald Reagan spoke these words many years ago but they remain true even today.

Due to the pandemic, the James Stewart Chapter, NSDAR, has chosen to delay our usual indoor gathering and move it to next year.

To honor the veterans of Heard County, the chapter has ordered a bench to be placed at the Veterans Park in downtown Franklin.

The bench will be dedicated to all Heard County veterans and will be a continuous memorial for generations to come.

The chapter will hold a dedication ceremony on the square once the bench has been received and installed.

This Veterans Day, please join chapter members as we focus our attention on the purpose of this special day:  A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, their love of country, and their willingness to serve.

Be watching for the upcoming date for the bench dedication in your media outlet.
