The Heard Citizen Student of the Month (August)

The inaugural Heard Citizen Student of the Month was presented today to Ms. Emerald Johnson.

Emerald is a 16-year old Junior at Heard High School. She was nominated based on her efforts in spearheading the candlelight vigil held for her fallen classmate Mr. Billy (B.J.) Scarborough who was killed in an automobile accident on South River Rd last month.

Emerald is an active member of Glenloch Baptist Church and has always been an A student at every level of school she has attended.

After graduation in 2013, she plans to pursue a degree in either pediatric nursing or burn center treatment. She was awarded a certificate and a HeardCitizen.com t-shirt.

Congratulations to Ms. Emerald Johnsonfor being our first ever student of the month.

This month’s award is sponsored by Vicky’s Grill which is located at 2197 Franklin Parkway.
