(Franklin) — Heard High School held its spring scholarship signing ceremony Tuesday morning at the school and three Brave athletes signed to compete at the next level in three different sports.

Senior Lady Brave Madison Whitehead signed to play basketball for the Fighting Tigers of Andrew College. Andrew College is a private, liberal arts junior college located in Cuthbert, Georgia.

Madison helped lead the Lady Braves to a Region 5-AA basketball championship this year and a trip to the GHSA Class AA State Quarterfinals. Madison was also the starting left fielder for the Lady Braves softball team that reached Columbus all four years of her career including a state title in 2014.

Senior Brave football player  Quay Daniel signed with Ridgewater College Warriors in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Quay, a linebacker and cornerstone of the Braves defense this year, was a member of the most successful senior class in school history winning Region Titles in three of his four years.

Daniel is also the center fielder for the Braves baseball team that has earned trips to the state quarterfinals in back-to-back years and a Region 5-AA title in 2015.

Senior Andrew Cannon, also a multiple sport athlete became the first person in school history to sign a wrestling scholarship.

Cannon will be wrestling for the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. Cannon advanced to the state wrestling meet at the Gwinnett Arena earlier this year and was also part of the very successful senior football class.

Family, friends, faculty, and coaches joined these Braves to celebrate their huge accomplishments at the high school Tuesday morning.
