Owens put together some stellar numbers in his complete game performance as he allowed just three hits and one walk.

The senior hurler struck out 11 Trojan hitters and needed just 74 total pitches to earn the win in game one of a 3-game series that is scheduled to conclude Friday in Barnesville.

He struck out six of the first nine batters he faced and did not give up a hit until the top of the fourth inning. No Trojan player reached third base during the game. The shutout lowered his season ERA to just 1.50.

Owens also helped himself at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI. The two hits raised his team-high batting average to .450 for the season.

Leroy Marsh and Chance each had two hits in the game and Ike O’Neal scored twice with a hit, a walk, and an RBI.

Before the Braves (6-7) travel to Barnesville for Friday’s region twin bill, they will host former Brave Chad Brown’s Pepperell Dragons from Region 7-AA at HCHS Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
