‘Trot for Tots’ and Team Challenge Barrel Race

(Franklin, GA) — On December 9, 2017, The Cowboy Shop Productions, owned by Shari Wilkins of Roopville, will hold its second annual ‘Trot for Tots’ and Team Challenge barrel race.

The idea behind this event is to raise money for the Heard County Sheriff Department’s Secret Santa program.

” We wanted a chance to make a difference in our community while being able to enjoy doing what we love. We hope it’s as much of a success as last year, and that we are able to do this every year!” stated Ms. Wilkins.

The event will start off with the Trot For Tots 4-D open barrel race with divisions for youth and adult riders. It will also serve riders a chance to qualify for the World Barrel Racing League Finals, in which qualified members have a shot to run at a chance of over $100,000 in added prize money in Perry Georgia in February.

The second event off the day will be the Team Challenge Barrel race in which teams of barrel racers  will competed for top honors. Each team will have five members who ran for an average time for their team.

The events main focus will be to raise money and bring in donations for the Heard County Sheriff’s Department.

The Cowboy Shop Productions will be working along side Sheriff Ross Henry, Penny McClain and other volunteers from the HCSO to host a silent cake auction, door prizes, and other fund-raisers to help with the Secret Santa program.

Last year’s event brought in several hundred dollars in donated toys, canned goods, and cash from the cake auction. This event will be open to the public, and door prize tickets can be “purchased” in exchange for an unwrapped toy, or three canned goods.

These donations will help ensure that the people in need in our community are able to have a wonderful holiday season.

If you are unable to attend but would like to still help, we would love to have cakes, pies and baked goods donated for the cake auction, as well as any items for door prizes. We will also be accepting toys and canned goods in advance.

If you would like to make a donation, feel free to contact Tanya Pike at 770-301-5668 , or feel free to drop items off at The Cowboy Shop in Roopville Ga as well.

A huge thank you to our barrel racing community and local residents for helping to make this a success!  Merry Christmas to all!
