(Troup County) — In 2012 as he was campaigning to be the next Sheriff of Troup County, Sheriff James Woodruff made a commitment to put School Resource Officers (SRO) back in our Middle Schools.

Working with the Troup County School System and their leadership, that commitment is a reality.

When students return to class Monday a SRO will be there working with the staff to make our public schools a safer place.

“It has been a goal of mine for the last several years to put these deputies back in our Middle Schools to not only be there if an emergency occurs, but also to be there as a mentor and friend to these students” Sheriff Woodruff stated.
