(Atlanta, GA) — The season is not over yet for two outstanding Brave football players who have been selected to compete in the second annual D.L. Scott Coalition Bowl Championships on Dec. 21, 2013 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Seniors Jonathon Hunt and Ta Freeland, crucial pieces of the Braves second consecutive Region 5-AA Championship run this year, will be a part of an event at the Georgia Dome that will showcase some of the top youth and high school senior football talent in the Peach State.

The event will feature youth games followed by the North Georgia vs. Central Georgia Senior All-Star Bowl at 1:00 p.m.

Hunt and Freeland will represent the Braves as part of the Central Georgia squad.

The North Georgia vs. Central Georgia Senior All-star Bowl was added in 2012 according to Assistant Bowl Director Buddy Knapp. ”Originally the DLS Coalition format included a Division II College all-star game, but when it did not develop the board of directors made the decision to add another high school game,” said the retired football coach.

“As you look geographically along the Alabama border between Chattanooga and Columbus, Georgia you will find outstanding football towns, teams and traditions. Many of these schools play each other in the regular season and now have an opportunity to play together as a regional all-star team.”

Dalton Pate was the first Heard County athlete to ever compete at the Georgia Dome in 2012. The Central squad will begin a week-long practice schedule today at Newnan High School.

The mission of the D.L. Scott Coalition Bowl Senior All-Star Game is to reward participants for their outstanding effort, commitment, and dedication to Georgia high school football. The event provides supplementary exposure for student athletes seeking scholarship opportunities. The event grants Georgia’s top student athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents and compete against some of the nation’s premier players.
