Two Brave wrestlers place at Bowdon

(Bowdon, GA) — Two Heard County High School Wrestlers placed at the Bowdon Tournament Saturday and are now preparing for the GHSA Class AA Area Meet this weekend at Bremen High School.

Wyn Denney continued his stellar senior season with a first place win to move his season record to 27-0. Denney is believed to be the first wrestler in school history to finish a regular season undefeated.

Nathan McClellan also had a strong finish at the meet going 3-1 to earn a fourth place finish. McClellan wrestled well all season and heads to Area with a record of 21-10.

Freshmen Aidan Nelms and Braeden Scoggins will also be competing for a spot at sectionals.

The road to the State Championships will officially begin with the GHSA Class AA Area 4 Meet at Bremen High School beginning at 10:00 AM this Saturday morning.

Wrestlers earning a top four finish will advance to the State Sectionals at Bremen High February 7-8.
