Undefeated HCMS Braves to host Championship Game at Staples Stadium

(Franklin) — The HCMS Braves football team knocked off Bowdon by a final score of 32-14 Wednesday at home to earn a spot in the West Georgia Small School Conference Championship game.

The Middle Braves (7-0) will host the Temple Middle School Tigers in the Championship game next Thursday at Staples Stadium at 6:00 PM on the campus of Heard County High School.

The Braves looked much stronger in Wednesday’s win over the Devils than earlier in the season when they won just 8-0 at Bowdon.

Tae Gray and Ashton Bonner each had over 100 yards rushing and each had two touchdowns.

Quarterback Leroy Marsh also had another great game including connecting with his favorite target Ayden Cannon on a 45-yard TD pass.

The Middle Braves defense continued to play well and the special teams also came through with a huge play when Anthony Graley blocked a punt that was recovered by Logan Kidder.

The Tigers advanced to the Championship with a 30-6 win over Bremen Thursday afternoon.

The Braves narrowly defeated the Tigers earlier this season scoring 20 unanswered points after trailing 14-0 early in the game.
