UWG to receive Westmoreland archives

(Carrollton, GA) — U.S. Representative Lynn Westmoreland has formally designated The University of West Georgia’s Ingram Library to be the recipient of his public service records.

The records will reflect his tenure in the United States House of Representatives, the Georgia State House, and as Vice Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

“It is my honor to gift my records to the University of West Georgia,” said Rep. Westmoreland.

“I sincerely hope that all I have learned in my 24 years of public service may be of use to the university’s students and researchers. I’m confident we are passing these documents on to good hands and that they will be well-preserved at the Ingram Library.”

The University of West Georgia is located in Carrollton, Georgia in Georgia’s Third Congressional District and currently enrolls over 10,000 students from across the state and nation.

University of West Georgia President Dr. Kyle Marrero looks forward to adding Rep. Westmoreland’s records to the Ingram Library:

“We are thrilled Rep. Westmoreland has chosen our university to archive his congressional papers. These documents provide an official record of some key events in our nation’s recent history. We look forward to hosting researchers for years to come as they visit our campus to study those moments and as we endeavor to preserve them.”
