UWG Wolves #1 in Gulf South Conference

The men’s basketball team continues to shred the non-conference portion of their schedule with another road win, this time in a re-match with Columbus State, to push their perfect record to 8-0.

The 60-59 victory places the Wolves dominantly atop the Gulf South Conference standings followed by seventh ranked Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama both at 5-2 (www.gulfsouthconference.org).

The Wolves now own “braggin’ rights” over the Cougars from Columbus having swept the season series between the two schools.

The last time they played, earlier this year, UWG posted a 79-68 victory at home.

The Wolves will hammer the hardwood once again on December 12th at the Coliseum as the university has a double-header scheduled.

The men’s squad will face Clayton State at 6 p.m. while the Lady Wolves have an 8 p.m. tip-off versus Shorter.

With only a handful of games left before conference play begins the Wolves appear primed for success.

The North Alabama Lions are on the docket for January 5th as both the men’s and women’s teams will be competing in a key conference match-up.
