Vehicle catches fire after crash

Storm New-Wrecked Vehicles Meachams 029(Franklin) — A man was charged with DUI and failing to stop at a stop sign over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash which occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of Franklin Parkway and U.S. Highway 27 on the south side of Franklin.

According to a report released by the Georgia State Patrol, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jason Carlton Workman, age 22, from Roopville was eastbound on Franklin Parkway at 4:15 a.m. Saturday morning and failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 27.

The vehicle crossed the four travel lanes, struck an embankment, and caught fire.

Workman was transported to Tanner Medical Center where he is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
