(Centralhatchee, GA) — A beautiful new Veterans Memorial was recently completed by the Town of Centralhatchee.

The memorial is located in the middle of the Centralhatchee city park and in addition to a monument features a sitting area, flags, and engraved benches honoring those who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines.

The SPLOST project was approved by the town council in November of 2015 at a cost of $49,768.30.

The work was completed by Hearn Monument of Carrollton, GA.

“It is an honor for the Town of Centralhatchee to erect a Veterans Memorial honoring all the men and women who have served,” said Mayor Barbie Crockett.

The Mayor and Council are working on a dedication ceremony in the near future.

Stay tuned to HeardCitizen.com later this week for further information and date of the ceremony.
