(Columbus, GA) — After being rained out in Columbus last week, the Lady Braves traveled south once again yesterday to take on the AAAAA Blue Devils and once again the weather won out as the game was called with a 2-2 score in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The contest will officially go into the record books as a tie between the two outstanding squads.
After the Blue Devils scored a run in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly, the Lady Braves tied the game after Jordan Watson doubled and pinch runner Aspen Barker eventually scored on a ground out by Alexis Raines.
The Lady Braves later took the lead on a Cali Harrod double and held the lead until the Blue Devils hit a solo homer late to tie the game at 2-2.
The squad travels to Central of Carrollton tomorrow to take on the Lions who finished last season as the runner-ups for the Class AAA State Title. The first pitch will be around 6:00 p.m. following the conclusion of the JV game.
