West Georgia Regional Library System Now Offers Free E-Magazines

(West Georgia) — The West Georgia Regional Library System now offers free e-magazine titles for checkout to anyone with a computer or tablet.

Including popular titles such as People, Us Weekly, Rolling Stone, and Southern Living, this new collection will bring the newsstand to your closest device.

Serving Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, and Paulding Counties, West Georgia Regional Library is committed to providing a contemporary and easily accessible collection to meet the needs of all of West Georgia’s residents.

“We’ve definitely been listening to what the community has been saying,” said WGRL Director Roni Tewksbury.

“People wanted more magazines in an easier to use service. With Flipster, we think we have met this demand with room to spare.”

Flipster offers an easy, browseable reading experience. Users can browse magazines by category as well as perform searches for specific periodicals.

An online newsstand provides a carousel of the most recent issues, as well as a carousel of all back issues, allowing for quick access to magazines.

The table of contents contains links to go quickly to articles of interest, and hotlinks with magazines are hyperlinked, opening in separate tabs when clicked. In addition, there is an option to zoom in and out for better readability.

The only thing anyone needs to access the magazines is a valid library card that can be received from any of the 17 service locations in the West Georgia area, including Heard County Library and Ephesus Public Library.
