(Carrollton, GA) — The West Georgia Tech men’s basketball team represented the school at Southwire’s Back-to-School Supply Giveaway last Saturday.

West Georgia Tech players and coaches greeted kids and their parents as they came through the line and encouraged each child to nominate their favorite teacher for Southwire’s My Favorite Teacher Contest.

“We really enjoyed getting out and interacting with the kids and their families,” said WGTC men’s basketball coach Niki Okolovitch.

“Within our program we stress the importance of giving back to the local communities and also the need to increase the awareness of our brand to these local kids. Who knows, we could have met some future Golden Knights out there last Saturday.”

The appearance was part of a community outreach program within the West Georgia Technical College athletic department.
