WGTC Foundation Hosting 5th-annual Golf Tournament

(Carrollton, GA) — The West Georgia Technical College Foundation has announced the date and location for its fifth-annual West Georgia Tech Athletics Golf Classic benefitting West Georgia Tech Baseball.

This year’s event will take place once again at Mirror Lake Golf Club in Villa Rica – on Friday, August 28th.

“This is a huge event for the baseball program,” said West Georgia Tech head baseball coach Todd Pratt. “We are trying to fill both courses this year to help generate our biggest tournament ever. My staff and I want to give these young student-athletes everything they need to compete at the highest level in junior college baseball.”

“The community has been a big help in the past and we look forward to having our biggest event yet. There will be a few Braves alumni in attendance as always, and the food and atmosphere will be great. I would like to thank the West Georgia Technical Foundation to allow us to once again have a great event like this.”

Sponsorships and golf teams are now available. Sponsorships range from $250-2,000.

Golf teams are priced at $500 per foursome and $125 per individual.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided as part of the golfing fee.

All proceeds will go towards the WGTC baseball program to help fund scholarships, equipment and other expenses for the 2015-16 school year.

The Golden Knights baseball program just completed its fourth year as a Division 1 junior college program and competes in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association / Region 17.

Numerous prizes will be doled out to winners and there will be a silent auction as well as a raffle.

Registration is set for 10 a.m. and the tournament will follow a four-man Fort Lauderdale scramble format. The event will have a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
