WGTC Franklin Site has best GED completion rate

(Franklin, GA) — West Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Division has honored its Franklin Instructional Site for achieving the highest GED completion rate across WGTC’s seven county service area last year.

“We are excited and honored to receive this year’s award,” Noel Forrester, Adult Education Instructor for the Franklin site, said.

“Our students worked and studied diligently, efficiently, and effectively to complete their GEDs so they may advance to the next phase in their plans to pursue a higher education degree or to secure better employment.”

Students at the Franklin site had a GED completion rate of 29 percent.

WGTC offers free Adult Education classes at the Franklin site to assist students in preparation to successfully navigate the four parts of the GED exam (Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics).

Scholarships are available to assist students with paying the GED testing fees.

These scholarships are funded by the West Georgia Technical College Foundation and Heard County Community Partnership, Inc.’s HEROEs initiative through funds provided by the Community Foundation of West Georgia.

GED classes are offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Contact Noel Forrester, Instructor, or Yvonne Price, GED Aide, for more information.
