Williamson takes over Jail Administrator Duties

The Heard County Sheriff’s Department has filled the jail administrator position at the Heard County Jail which was left vacant in mid December.

Sheriff Ross Henry has named long-time employee Lieutenant Deborah Williamson to the position.

Williamson has been with the department since 1997 and prior to that logged many years of experience with the Lagrange Police Department in Troup County.

She began as a patrol officer with Heard County in 1997 before being promoted to investigator in 1999. “Deborah was the ideal candidate to fill our jail administrator position. She has numerous years of experience, she is hard-working, organized, and very detail oriented,” stated Heard County Sheriff Ross Henry.

The job was vacated by Dena Thifault in December after she and her husband were arrested in Coweta County on alleged theft charges relating to missing funds at the Oaklawn Baptist Church in Newnan.
