Young Ephesus father dies in tragic ATV accident

(Ephesus, GA) — A Heard County man was tragically killed Wednesday afternoon in an ATV accident in the Ephesus community.

According to an accident report issued by a public information officer with the Georgia State Patrol, 31-year-old Adam Caldwell was traveling northbound on HWY 100 aboard a Suzuki Quadsport ATV at around 5:55 PM when the accident occurred.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, but reports indicate that Caldwell veered left and the force of the rotation caused him to be ejected from to the vehicle and onto the roadway as the ATV traveled off the roadway striking some trees before landing in a ditch.

GSP says Caldwell was transported to Tanner Medical Center where he was officially pronounced deceased.

Caldwell is survived by his wife, Laura and three children Trevor (age 13), Ayden (age 11), and Kyya (age 5).

All three children attend Heard County schools.

A family friend has started a GoFundMe page to aid the family with funeral expenses.

R and R One Stop in Ephesus will also be donating all proceeds from the store deli sales this Sunday, May 24 to the family.
