(Franklin) — The 3rd annual charity basketball game benefitting ‘Toys For Tots’ will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Heard County High School gymnasium.

This year’s event will once again feature Franklin and Heard County Public Safety employees versus Heard County school system faculty members and coaches.

Admission for this year’s game is an unwrapped toy with a value of $5 or more, non-perishable food items, or a monetary donation. Prizes will be given away at halftime.

The night will also feature a visit from special guest Legendary professional wrestler ‘Thunderbolt’ Patterson.

Patterson was a big star in southern wrestling promotions in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s in the NWA and Georgia. He won multiple tag titles with partners such as Tony Atlas, Jerry (or “Gerald”) Brisco, Ole Anderson, and Tommy ‘Wildfire’ Rich.

Toys, canned goods and cash proceeds from the charity game are presented to Heard County Sheriff Ross Henry each year to aid families throughout Heard County.

The annual event is organized by Lt. Sammarintino Brooks of the Franklin Police Department.
