Mrs. Addie “Virginia” Teal

Mrs. Addie “Virginia” Teal, age 82 of Franklin, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center.

She was born on July 28, 1937 in Heard County, Georgia to Charles Sherman Arp and Addie Fay Bell Arp.

She was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. She wore many hats.

In the community she was known for working at the Heard County Daycare Center, Ephesus Elementary paraprofessional, and as a seamstress.

She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and children.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerome Teal of Franklin; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mike Thompson of Franklin; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Marvin Miller of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Julie Teal of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Lydia Teal of Buchanan; sister, Marion Couch of Newnan; sister, Brenda Redwine of Fayetteville; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Tommy Hawk of Newnan; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Doyle McKenzie of Sharpsburg;  sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Stanley Mashburn of Newnan; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Edwin Bradley of Franklin; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Patsy Arp of Newnan; brother, Samuel Arp of Carrollton; first cousins, who were raised alongside her, Jimmy Arp of Atlanta, and Lunell Tuggle of Franklin; 12 grandchildren, Pamela (Ryan) Hickman of Birmingham, AL, Caitlin (Caleb) Mabe of Wilmington, NC, Morgan Thompson of Canton, GA, Randall (Mary Kea) Miller of Newnan, GA, Sawyer (Alexandra) Miller of Ball Ground, GA, Jordan (Taylor) Miller of Newnan, GA, Andrew Teal, Adrienne Teal and Alex Teal all Canton, GA, Grant Teal Kenleigh Teal and Liam Teal all of Buchanan, GA; and three great grandchildren, Preston Hickman, Ellison Miller, and Wyatt Miller.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Darnell Teal and Rev. Terry Arp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Martin & Hightower Funeral Home.
