It was the customary team effort for the girls with six different players scoring between 7-10 points.

Sophomore point guard Sage Kelley led the way with 10 points including two 3-point baskets. Kelley’s consistent play at the point has been crucial this year although her efforts don’t always show up int the box score.

Madison Whitehead and Kimberly Harris each had nine points including one from long-range for each of them.

Alyssa Cosper and Hannah Sanders each scored eight and senior Jordan Watson wasn’t far behind with seven.

It  was a very clean game with only 14 foul shots between both teams.

The Lady Braves would secure the No. 2 seed in Region 5-AA with a road win at Bremen in Friday’s regular season finale.

If the Lady Blue Devils can pull off the win, a coin-flip would decide the No. 2 seed. The Lady Braves won the match-up earlier this season in Franklin by a final score of 60-40.

In the boy’s game the Red Devils held off a furious last-minute rally by the Braves to get the 48-45 win over Coach Paul Fitz-Simons’ squad.

The Braves battled back from a nine-point hole with under two minutes to play on a 3-point basket by senior Jordan Beard and two big buckets from Darius Matthews before C.J. Brewer sank a couple of free throws to ice the final with just 4.1 seconds to play.

Brewer led the Devils with 13 points on the night. Leading the way for the Braves was Matthews with a season-high 18 including two 3’s. Christian Murray had eight and Jordarius Foster added six.

The Braves rallied from five down at the half to take a one-point lead into the fourth quarter before the Devils went on a 12-4 run to open the quarter.

The Braves can secure the third seed in Region 5-AA with a win at Bremen on Friday and would host a first round game next Tuesday at HHS.
