Barron reaching out to youth football coaches

(Franklin, GA) — Heard County High School football coach Tim Barron is reaching out to current and potential recreation department football coaches this spring as all levels of local football programs continue to make preparations for the upcoming fall season.

Barron says he is wanting to once again be more involved in the youth football programs in order to build towards the future.

“I’m just excited to be jumping back in and working with our younger kids and coaches at the recreation department level,” said Barron this week.

“I feel like I have been too far removed from it over the last few years and not giving our youth coaches the best opportunity to be successful — I just wasn’t putting myself out there enough for them and I am just ready to get back to being that total program guy I was 15 years ago.”

Barron hopes to speak with current coaches and prospective new coaches over the next few weeks to help install some of the same schemes, terminology, and systems that are already in place at the high school and middle school programs.

“The real transformation of these kids comes a the middle school level, but we are wanting to give these younger recreation kids as much knowledge and support as we can to help them move forward and be successful in our program at the upper levels,” says Barron.

The longtime Brave coach says his focus being a parent to his own son over the past few years has kept him from being involved as he’d like to be.

“It’s not anything about what the recent coaches have done or not done this is more about me wanting to get more involved once again now that my own son Austin has moved on to the next level. From the parents’ side, you can get very focused on doing the best you can for your own kids and that’s where I have been.”

Coach Barron and staff have been working diligently on the recreation program for the past few weeks and he is hoping to meet very soon with the current coaches first. However, the Brave staff is also wanting to reach out to anyone in the community that might have an interest in coaching the Braves a the recreation level.

If you are interested in coaching Braves youth football in 2017 you may contact Coach Barron directly at 770-712-1363 or you may call the Heard County Recreation Department at 706-675-3778.
