On the Mend — Brave sophomore quarterback Emory Jones should not need surgery on his broken tibula and the leg is expected to heal up in about eight weeks.

Varsity Wrestling Meet — The first varsity wrestling meet is next Monday, Nov. 30 vs. Mt. Zion at HHS (5:30 PM). Varsity wrestling is coached by Kyle Yates.

Huzzie POWBrave Nation Player of the Week: The Player of the Week is freshman Brave football player Mr. Alijah Huzzie.

Alijah did an outstanding job replacing starting quarterback Emory Jones after only one play during Friday night’s home playoff loss to Fitzgerald.

Congratulations to Alijah for being named this week’s Player of the Week!

Stadium Renovations Underway — Renovations to Staples Stadium are underway this week and are anticipated to be complete in time for graduation. Stay tuned to HeardCitizen.com for further information on this home side/press box stadium remodel.

End for Most Area Teams — Most football teams in the West Georgia area were eliminated from the GHSA State Playoffs last week with the exception of Northgate. Northgate from Coweta County will host Kell this Friday night in the Class AAAAA quarterfinals.
