Members of the Coweta County SWAT team, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Office, located 34-year-old Roger Thomas “Tommy” Hill at the residence along with several other residents who exited the home leaving only Hill behind.

Authorities with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office say Hill did not surrender after several hours of negotiations, so CS gas was deployed into the house.

Negotiations continued for another 90 minutes before members of Coweta SWAT and the U.S. Marshall’s Office made entry into the residence and located Hill hiding in an upstairs closet. He was finally taken into custody without injury.

“Tommy” Hill is being charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, obstruction of officers and theft by receiving stolen property. Reports indicate there were no injuries to anyone on the arrest team.

Hill had been eluding Heard County police since Sunday, November 30 when he allegedly shot a man during an argument and fled the scene near HWY 34 in eastern Heard County.

He was located early Monday morning behind another Coweta County residence on Boy Scout Road where he allegedly fired at authorities. A vehicle stolen out of Carroll County was also found at the scene.

Hill is facing charges of Aggravated Assault in Heard County in relation to the initial shooting on November 30. The male victim in that incident was transported to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.
