Water main break closes portions of South River Rd.

(Franklin, GA) — A water main break late Monday has many customers in the City of Franklin without water, but crews are hopeful to have the water back on soon.

Commuters should be aware, however, that a portion of South River Road is currently closed and traffic is being rerouted.

South River Road is shut down between Franklin Parkway and the nursing home and those living further down South River Rad will need to use Dr. Fisher Road as an alternate.

Heard County Water Authority Distribution Superintendent Edward Ponder asks that customers remain as patient as possible as they try to restore full service to all customers.

The break occurred just after dark Monday.

The outage is affecting mostly customers on the downtown side of the Chattahoochee River.
