Chairman Lee Boone issues new COVID-19 statement

To The Citizens of Heard County:

It has been a week now since protective and restrictive measures were implemented to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 virus.

Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to meet the needs of the public until normal services can be restored.

I commend all citizens who have taken the necessary steps to protect themselves and their family. I also commend those who have been patient regarding the public access restrictions to Government facilities implemented by the Board of Commissioners.

All agencies from the Federal, State and local levels are in uncharted territory and trying to navigate their way through this to the best of their ability until it ends, and it will end.

America is the Home of the Brave and Heard County is the Home of the Braves.

This symbolizes that in times of crisis we put our differences aside and unite together to fight for our freedoms and to achieve victory in the end.

This virus is an enemy threatening our freedom of mobility, gatherings, the health, safety and welfare of our citizens, and disrupting our way of life.

It may get worse before it gets better, but I am confident the Braves will unite together, help our neighbors, and achieve victory in the end.

The ultimate weapon we all possess is the power of prayer. I urge all people to humble themselves and pray for Psalms 91:10 protection for you and your family, and remember in the end, the victory belongs to God.

Lee Boone,

Heard County Chairman
