Chief Hannah attends winter training conference

As part of his continuing education and training in the administration of law enforcement, Chief Kevin Hannah, of the Franklin Police Department recently attended the 2012 Annual Winter Training Conference sponsored by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.

This year’s conference was attended by the heads of law enforcement agencies from throughout the state participating in the conference. The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police is responsible for the delivery of training to the chiefs of Georgia’s police departments and law enforcement agencies.

The Winter Training Conference was held at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta from February 6th through 8th, 2012.

This year’s training covered a variety of topics such as: “Three Measures to Police Chief Survival”, “Update on Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training”, “Collaboration between Pardons & Paroles and Law Enforcement”, “Social Media: Opportunities and Challenges”, “Islamic Radicalism and Counter Terrorism”, “Lessons Learned from the Nation’s Top Cops”, and “Dealing with the Difficult Boss”.

Director Stan York of the Sandersville Police Department and President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police encouraged each member to “continue to excel in the ever-changing and challenging world of professional law enforcement by enhancing your professional development”.
