Ephesus student receives DAR Youth Citizenship Award

(Ephesus, GA) — The James Stewart Chapter, NSDAR, is pleased to announce the 2020-2021 recipient of the DAR Youth Citizenship Award for Ephesus Elementary School.

Sarah Caouette was chosen by the school faculty as the student that best exemplifies the qualities of a good citizen.

Those qualities are honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism.

Sarah made the high honor roll all year and earned the highest grade in reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies.

She had the highest overall average in her class.

Sarah also received the Principal’s Attendance Award and the Computer Award. She was recognized as the Ephesus Elementary 5th grade Young Georgia Author winner.

In her spare time, she was a member of the EES Running Club, plays basketball.

Sarah and her family are active members of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She is looking forward to attending Heard County Middle School later this summer. Sarah will start playing volleyball for the HCMS team later this year and will begin guitar lessons over the summer.

The DAR Youth Citizenship Program began in 1933 with the goal of recognizing young people in our community who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, churches, schools and throughout our community.

One of the most rewarding activities for our chapter members is the opportunity to interact with student in Heard County.

In addition to supporting DAR schools around the country, we also support our local schools throughout the year.
