Franklin Fireworks Show slated for July 7

(Franklin, GA) — The Heard County Chamber of Commerce will host SummerFest 2018 on the square in downtown Franklin, GA on Saturday, July 7th.

Folks, young and old, are invited to come out and enjoy great food, good music, and some fantastic fireworks. This event is free to the public.

This family-friendly festival will provide a wide array of foods that will surely tantalize your taste buds.

Funnel cakes, bar-be-que, ice cream, snow cones, hamburgers, hot dogs, donuts, and fried green tomatoes are some of the many foods that will be available during the festival.

You will also be able to try your luck at the dunking booth and water rollers. And, of course enjoy all-time favorites, bungee jumping, and train rides.

There will be live entertainment by Chase Tibbitts and Charlie Hudgins. They perform all over the West Georgia area, and are keeping true to their roots by playing for SummerFest 2018. We are also pleased to welcome the Georgia Peach Cloggers this year !

And what would SummerFest be without Watermelons? Piggly Wiggly will sponsor a watermelon eating contest at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to come and watch as some of Franklin’s finest watermelon eaters compete for a chance to win cash prizes.

SummerFest begins at 5:00 p.m. on the square with a variety of vendor booths and at approximately 9:30 p.m. a fantastic fireworks display will be presented over the Chattahoochee River.
