(Franklin, GA) — To support the newest food pantry in Heard County, the Heard County Water Authority partnered with Three Sisters Food Pantry on Caney Head Road to host a food drive during October.

HCWA Director Laurie Cook and staff wanted to focus on supporting the smaller organization since it was just established earlier in the year.

Three Sisters Food Pantry was a vision brought to life by Mrs. Hazel Reeves, and she operates the pantry along with help from many volunteers.

Mrs. Reeves is a long-time resident of Heard County, has a heart for serving and was eager to answer the need in her local community.

Considering the recent pandemic, the Heard County Water Authority realizes needs aren’t just seasonal and wants to do their part and support those in need.

The holidays are an additional reminder to be as generous as possible with our resources and that is exactly what the Water Authority’s staff and customers have done with this food drive.

Many donated to the cause, and we were able to deliver several boxes of non-perishables to Three Sisters Food Pantry.

HCWA is humbled and grateful for the outpouring of generosity during this event, and we look forward to future service projects in the community.
