Heard County 4-H’ers win District Project honors

(Eatonton, GA) — Five Heard County 4-H’ers returned from the North West District Project Achievement competition with honors in their project areas.

Held March 4-6, the district meeting at Rock Eagle 4-H Center was attended by 317 Junior and 358 Senior 4-H’ers from 37 counties in the Northwest District.

First place junior 4-H’ers included Alexis Levens in the Poultry and Egg Science Project.

Third place juniors were: Russ Moody in the General Recreation Project.

Also representing Heard County were Jacob Moreland in the Outdoor Recreation Project, Beth Taylor in the General Recreation Project, and Bo Hazel in the Sports Project.

Bo Hazel, (7th grade) was elected to the North West District 4-H Junior Board of Directors.  He will officially assume office in June.

Outgoing Junior Board member is Russ Moody (8th grade) who has officially served this past year.

Attending D.P.A. with the 4-H’ers were Renae Taylor, volunteer and Dinah Rowe, 4-H agent.
