Heard County ‘Back To School Bash’ Saturday morning

(Franklin, GA) — Heard County Community Partnership, a Georgia Family Connection Affiliate, and its’ collaborative partners will hold their annual Back To School Bash Resource Fair this Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Heard County Covered Arena in Franklin.

Around 1,000 to 1,200 residents will take advantage of the event to glean a wealth of information and receive free school supplies.

The Braves Bash, unlike some ‘giveaways,’ is a resource fair which provides information on services available in the community.

For students, there will be information on school clubs and athletics, local youth clubs, library programs, health department services, and career information.

Adults receive information about adult and children’s health services, adult education, labor department programs and available jobs, fitness programs, transit services, and much more.

Many local entities are participating this year offering additional school supplies and opportunities to meet staff.

Heard High School Staff and Heard Elementary School Staff will be on hand to complete the now-required residency affidavits for all students attending. They will also provide bus forms and power school registrations. Clubs will be on hand to provide students info as well.

As always, students will be provided school supplies at each booth. Additionally, bags of age-specific supplies will be offered to Heard County students attending the Bash and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and proof of residency must be provided.
