Heard County Election Update

(Franklin, GA) — The combined General Primary and Presidential Preference Primary has been moved to June 9, 2020.

This article may answer some questions you may have concerning the change.

The registration deadline has been moved to May 11, 2020. This gives anyone who has not already registered to vote or changed their address time to add their name to the electors list for the Primary.

Voters are STRONGLY encouraged to apply for their absentee ballot to be mailed to their home. If you have not received an application and would like one, please call the Elections Office at 706-675-3907 or e-mail tadams@heardcountyga.com.

The first day of Early Voting has been moved to May 18, 2020. Dates are as follows:

May 18 – 22  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

May 26 – 29  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

May 30        9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Saturday Voting)

June 1 – 5    8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Those voters who cast a ballot in the March Presidential Preference Primary will have their votes counted in June.

If they vote in the June 9, 2020 Primary, they will receive a ballot without the race for President.

All other voters will receive a ballot that contains the races on the General Primary and the race for President.
