(Franklin) — The United Daughters of the Confederacy 2587,  met at Three Rivers Saturday, February 4 , 2016.

Carla Brown introduced our program on “Music, Musicians, and Morals” during the War Between the States.

As our guest speaker and musician, Steve Wortham,  spoke on the music played during the war.

He also brought his fiddle and played a few songs that were popular with the soldiers and popular during that time period.

We all were fascinated  by his playing and the history behind the music.

Our chapter donated $25.00 in Steve’s name to a scholarship that the UDC sponsors.

Steve graduated from Heard County High School and married Jean Arrington. They now live in Soddy Daisy, TN. They have one daughter, Margaret.
