(Franklin, GA) — Tracey Gay Hunt became the newest member to join your local DAR chapter and was inducted at their September meeting.

A native of Heard County, Tracey is in her 6th year of teaching History at Centralhatchee Elementary School. She holds a Master’s Degree from Mercer University and a Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia.

Her love of history and her “genealogy hobby” lead her to the DAR. Tracey has already volunteered to chair the Junior American Citizens and Community Classroom committees for the chapter.

Joining under her Revolutionary soldier, Joshua Gay, Tracey will have a new perspective on the founding of our country, as her direct ancestor was present during the Battle of Yorktown.

Tracey has been married to Todd Hunt for 27 years and has two sons, Jonathon and Davey.

James Stewart members are excited about the new addition to the chapter and look forward to working with her on new projects during the coming years.

We can help you find your Revolutionary Patriot and help you explore your heritage. Each DAR chapter has a trained Registrar that can assist you through this journey.

A service organization, the DAR will celebrate its 129th birthday on October 11th. Please consider becoming a member today. Our email address is
