(Franklin, GA) — Last week, Keris Kares, Inc. donated art supplies to the Heard County Elementary School as part of its outreach to communities via the Keris Kares 4 the Arts program.

Keris Kares, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in order to raise money and awareness for the needs of families with a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Keris Bembry was only 6 years old when she lost her battle against DIPG, a very rare and certainly fatal brain cancer; but, her spirit and specifically LOVE for art was second to none!

Last fall, during the Heard County High School football game verses the Central High School Lions, the theme was “Going Gold for Pediatric Cancer” and a large amount of money was raised that night and donated to Keris Kares.

The money raised goes to help families pay bills while they are going through cancer treatments, help stock the food pantry at the Ronald McDonald House, help fund doctors to research a cure for pediatric cancer, and also helps to purchase art supplies to donate to our schools.

Next Fall, the September 6, 2019 HCHS home football game against Hapeville Charter will kick-off pediatric awareness month and be themed “Going Gold for Pediatric Cancer” once again.

Keris Kares is working with Ms. Debbie Cole at the elementary schools on a t-shirt design competition for the Going Gold Game, as well as continuing to donate art supplies to her throughout the year.

In addition, as there were last year, wristbands showing the Heard County Community’s support of Going Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness will be available for sale. Much more information will be available soon.

Keris Kares gives tremendous thanks to the Heard County Community for overwhelmingly supporting its cause, and looks forward to many more events partnering to raise money and awareness to something that unfortunately touches us all in some way.

The first Keris Kares fund-raising event of 2019 will be held in Newnan, Georgia – a 1 mile Fun Run, and 5K in Downtown Newnan on May 18, 2019. You can sign up to participate at www.runsignup/keriskares.
