Rowe has served the district since 1993 and is retiring at the end of her current term.

Brooks, 45, plans to run for the District 3 seat in preparation of the upcoming May 24 School Board election.

Brooks is a Senior Loan Officer with Statewide Mortgage in LaGrange. Pastor Brooks has served in various ministry roles since 1994.

He and his wife Dana reside in Hogansville and together they have five children. Four are graduates of Callaway High School, and the youngest is a sophomore at Callaway.

“I consider it a blessing to have been a part of Troup County and its people for the last 20 years. Lagrange has been a wonderful place to raise children,” said Brooks in a press release.

“As the School Board Representative for District 3, I will insure that student achievement remains our highest priority. I will also insure that all Troup County Schools are safe for every student and teacher. Every teacher, administrator, and support staff personnel are the key to quality education in Troup County.”

“Through dialogue, encouragement, and fiscal accountability, education in Troup County will exceed the ‘norm’. With your support, I will strive for all of Troup County to be “a great place to raise children,” added Brooks.

Brooks received  Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Columbus State University and earned his Master’s Degree from Luther Rice College and Seminary.
