Mr. Bill Johnson

Mr. William Raymond “Bill” Johnson, age 65, of Franklin passed away January 4, 2021.

His memorial service will be held January 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Jordan officiating.

Mr. Johnson was born June 23, 1955 in Atlanta to the late Frederick William Johnson and Sarah Lou Umphrey Grizzell. He was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church.

He was employed by Chromalloy, where he worked as a welder for aircraft engine parts. He was renowned for his skill, which was necessary for such a vital assembly job.

In his free time he loved to spend time outdoors. He especially enjoyed going camping and deep sea fishing.

He had a kind heart and never met a stranger. His family was the center of his world, and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Johnson of Franklin; four daughters, Angela Bassett (Lenward, Jr.) of Greenville, Cindy Mitchell (Tim) of LaGrange, Rebecca Woods (Jason) of Pine Mountain, and Heidi Hamric of Columbus; grandchildren, Blake Woods, Zak Woods, Lenward Bassett, III, Kayla Mitchell, and Jessica Bassett; one sister, Pat Tillia of Franklin; his beloved dog, Jack; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tina W. Johnson, his step-father, Coy Grizzell, and two brothers, Johnny Johnson and Steve Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, donations toward funeral expenses will be accepted.
