Mr. Bill Parmer

Mr. Willie Lee “Bill” Parmer, age 87, of Roopville passed away April 6, 2019.

Funeral services for Mr. Parmer will be conducted Monday April 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM from New Springs Church with the Revs. Milford Ballenger and Samuel Arp officiating.

His body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites delivered by Mr. Robert Nelms.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Mr. Parmer was born May 27, 1931 in Randolph County, AL to the late James E. Parmer, Sr. and Rosie Knott Parmer. He was a member of New Springs Church.

He was a Mason for more than 47 years, and was a member of Loftin Lodge #688 F&AM. He was also a Shriner with the Yaarab Temple in Atlanta.

He owned his own trucking company, and was leased to Ladd Truck Lines for many years until his retirement. He loved driving and logged countless miles during his time on the road.

At home he loved to farm. He enjoyed getting out with his cows and going to his pond to feed the fish.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Parmer; two sons, David Parmer (Crystal) and Gary Parmer; a special niece, Margie Vessell; grandchildren, Renae Taylor (Troy), Stephanie Shorter, Trent Parmer (Deidre), Jessica Horn (Emmett), Eric Parmer (Erin), Steve Shorter, Michelle Crockett, Melissa Milam (Jeremy), and Neal Keeton; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Parmer (Bonnie); and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Delmas Parmer, a granddaughter, Mandy Franks, a sister, and seven brothers.
