Mr. Daniel David Smith

Mr. Daniel David Smith, age 79, of Franklin passed away February 5, 2021.

He was born June 26, 1941 in Marshall, Texas to the late William Jackson Smith and Frances Betty Grace Stephens Smith. He had been a Heard County resident since 1952.

He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked in many phases of construction and carpentry for more than 40 years. His love of the outdoors stayed with him until his health began to fail him.

He loved to work with wood and took great pride in special projects for family and friends. In recent years he enjoyed riding his lawnmower and “supervising” the work to be done around the house.

A four-year cancer survivor, he fought a long battle with multiple health issues only to succumb to COVID-19 as so many others have.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Williams-Smith of Franklin; the true and faithful daughter of his heart, Sharon (Sha) Williams-Hicks (Gary) of Franklin; three grandchildren, Tonya Leigh Williams of Franklin, Christina Hicks Stowe (Rob) of Florida, and Christopher R. Hicks (LesLee) of North Carolina; one brother, William Henry Smith of Cumming; a faithful, dear friend, Phyllis E. Smith of Griffin; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Martha Noles and Frances Louise Bonner; and two brothers, James Wesley Smith and Samuel Stephens Smith.

Due to the COVID-19 emergency, a memorial service will be held on a later date.

Those who wish may write memorial tributes at www.stuttsfuneralhome.com.
