Mr. James Winford “Paw Paw” Moore

Mr. James Winford “Paw Paw” Moore, age 73, of the Veal Community, Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday morning, March 25, 2017.

He was born February 19, 1944 in Heard County, Georgia, the son of the late J. W. “Bill” Moore and the late Ina Leona Gore Moore. He was a retired truck driver and had spent many years in the cattle farming business.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Buck Moore and Major Moore and a sister, Lola Payne.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in law, Jason and Melissa Moore of the Veal Community; daughters and sons-in-law, Romonda Worthy of Bremen, Tamara Moore, Kimberly and Charlie Donley, and Felicia and Jason Spruill, all of the Veal Community; three sisters, also of the Veal Community, Louise Eady, Christine Ivey, and Essie Brand; seven grandchildren, Hunter Spruill, Chase Spruill, Cory Millsap, Jonathon Moore, Cameron Worthy, Chloe’ Spruill, and Jacquline Moore; and one great-grandson, Dominic Lewis.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Veal Baptist Church with Rev. Homer Wilburn and Mr. Tim Eady officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM.

Those serving as pallbearers will be David Eady, Hunter Spruill, Chase Spruill, Cory Millsap, Jonathon Moore, and Cameron Worthy.

Ridley Parmer, Darry Payton, Calvin Payne, and Wilford Payne will be seated as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Veal Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, March 26, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
