Mr. Jesse Floyd Broome

Mr. Jesse Floyd Broome was born May 23, 1947 in Glenn, Heard County, Georgia. He was the fifth child of nine born to Catherine Broome and the late Jame H. Broome.

At an early age, he united with the Stateline Baptist Church Family. He attended Ethel W. Kight School.

Floyd moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where he met and married Doris Hinton. To this union, three children were born: Jesse, Timothy, and Stephanie.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 8:04 in the morning, Floyd departed this earthly realm and entered into Eternal Rest in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Spencer Roger Broome, Lawrence “Peter” Broome, and Charlie Edward Broome.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his three children, Jesse Floyd (Latonya) Broome, Jr., Timothy Broome, Stephanie (Raymond) Payne, Sr.; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren; his mother, Catherine Broome; four sisters, Mary Laye, Willene Phillip, Jeanell Reese, Maxine Williams; one brother, William (Mattie) Broome; aunt, Ruby Watkins; four sisters-in-law, Minister Deborah Broome, Annie P. Broome, Dollie Jo Hinton, Mary Reed; one brother-in-law, James Earl Hinton; special cousin and friend, Pot Holly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in Michigan and Georgia; very special cousins and caregivers: Valerie Wright, Linda Watkin, Kenny Dukes; and special friend, Carlyn Campbell.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 18 at Stateline Baptist Church, 112 Glenn Road in Franklin.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home of Lagrange is in charge of the arrangements.
