Mr. John H. Glenn

Glenn 2Mr. John H. Glenn, age 69, passed away on July 8, 2015. Celebration of Life Services were held on July 16, 2015 at 3 PM at Mt. Carrie Baptist Church, Rev. Ronnie G. Jones, Pastor, Rev. Keith Lewis, Eulogist.

Mr. John H. Glenn, born November 25, 1945 in Franklin, Georgia to the late Marie Glenn and the late Frank Add.

Wednesday July 8, 2015, the Lord granted him his wings and his spirit peacefully entered paradise.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cierra Glenn and five step siblings: Eddie Lovelace, Bunnie Mae Holley, Milton Lee Lovelace, Mattie Lou Watkins and Charlie Frank Lovelace, Jr.

At an early age, he united with Stateline Baptist Church in Franklin, GA. Later in life, he attended services at Mt. Carrie Baptist Church and Flint Ridge Baptist Church.

Also, he attended church in Atlanta, GA with one of his favorite aunts, the late Mildred Glenn Walker. He was educated in the Heard County School System at Mary Johnson in Franklin, GA.

By apprenticeship, he learned auto body repair. Over the years, he worked in many body shops in Bowdon, Carrollton and Alabama. Also, he was the proud owner of two body shops in Bowdon and Carrollton, GA. Throughout his lifetime, he also taught many others how to do body work.

He encouraged his son, Haywood, to get training and proudly embraced and respected him as a partner and a co-worker. Also, he trained many young adult boys and girls to do mechanic work.

As he grew older, he still enjoyed helping others. It was nothing to see him doing frame-work between two trees in the backyard or fixing someone’s car on the side of the road.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a dedicated daughter who was also his caregiver, Wylene Glenn Spearman of Franklin, GA; four loving sons, Haywood Glenn (Sabrina) of Lithia Springs, GA , Carlos Glenn and Barry Glenn both of Carrollton, GA; Nicholas Nelson of Newnan, GA; a loving daughter, Pamela Bexley of Carrollton, GA; two loving stepchildren, Kathy Molden of Carrollton, GA and Roderick Glenn (Robin) of Villa Rica, GA; 17 grandchildren, Amber Spearman, Tiana Spearman, Jessica Glenn, Hayven Glenn, Chiquita Glenn, Janae Glenn, Carlos Glenn, Montae Glenn, Makala Glenn, Samara Glenn, Jaiden Glenn, Aniya Arnold, Mario Barber, Nickiya Ball, Tim Mann, Jayden Adams, Jordan Adams; three step-grandchildren, Uryah Molden, Elijah Glenn, and Jarod Glenn; three great-grandchildren, Kamarian Glenn, Titus Jones, and Tabias Jones; two supportive and caring siblings, Gloria Eubanks of Franklin, GA and Willie Joe Glenn of Canton, Ohio; special friends in surrounding counties, a host of step siblings, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, and a loving and devoted God-daughter, Deborah Slay.
