Mr. Nathaniel Phillips

Phillips ObitMr. Nathaniel Phillips was born July 18, 1937 to Marshall and Goldie Phillips in Heard County, Georgia.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Methodist church.

He met and married Willene Broome, and through this union, the had four children: Romanzer “Ann”, Helus “Jerome”, Brenda “Deloris” and Carmen “Felicia”.

Mr. Phillips moved from Alabama with his family to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1963 and worked for Flower Baking Company for eighteen years. When he retired, he moved back to LaGrange, Georgia.

On Friday, October 30, 2015 at 9:00 am; Nathaniel Phillips departed this life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siter, Rebecca Treadwell; brother, John Phillips; and three brothers-in-law, Roger Broome, Peter Broome, and Edward Broome.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mrs. Willene Phillips; son, Helus (Felicia Dunlap) Phillips; daughters, Romanzer (Danny) Tucker, Brenda Gunn, and Carmen Phillips, all of LaGrange, GA; five grandchildren, Jakeyvius (Starla) Thornton, Jermeisha Phillips, Stevisha Tolbert, Javarous Simmons, and Montez, Gunn; six great-grandchildren, Zy Terrian Phillips, Armani Tolbert, Kel’mora Burks, Nasiy Thornton, J’Myah Phillips, and ZaJeria Simmons; brother, James Phillips, Roanoke, AL; two sisters, Elsie White, Fort Pierce, FL; Louise Purter, Huntsville, AL; special friends, Ezell and Virginia Cooper, Betty Johnson and family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Servcie was held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Stateline Baptist Church, Franklin, GA. Pastor Andre K. McDonald and Pastor Earnest Parham officiated, and burial followed at the Church Cemetery.
