Mr. Randall Buchanan

Mr. Randall Quillian Buchanan, age 77 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his home.

A memorial service for Mr. Buchanan was conducted on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Danny Spencer officiating.

Music was provided by Leesa Stutts Cothran. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the American Veterans Association.

Mr. Buchanan was born in Roopville, Georgia on October 21, 1934, the son of the late Ambrose Quillian Buchanan and Edith Chatman Buchanan. He was a retired diesel mechanic who last worked for the Vaughan Transport Company in LaGrange, Georgia.

He was a Christian by faith and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United Sates Army. He was a loving father who enjoyed being with his family and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Buchanan of Wake Forrest, N.C., and Jerry Buchanan (Dawn) of Franklin, GA.; mother-in-law Lizzie Lou Pike Hickey of Franklin, Ga.;five sisters, Betty Zimmerman (Don) of Wichita, KS., Bernice Wilson of LaGrange, GA., Nelda Railey of Pine Mountain, GA., Sharon Taylor of LaGrange, GA, and Janie Dollar (Eddie) of Hogansville, GA.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lizzie Ruth Pike Buchanan; daughter, Gail Buchanan; Son, Stephen Buchanan; brothers, Austin Buchanan and Billy Joe Buchanan; and granddaughter, Andrea Buchanan.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia are in charge of arrangements.

    I remember Mr. Buchanan being a gentle, kind man. He did not say much but his eyes would light up when Gail and I would dance and act silly. Rest in peace and please let Gail know I still love her and think of her often. Alice Lowery Hadaway
