Mr. Tom Wesley Timms

Mr. Tom Wesley Timms, age 54, of Franklin passed away March 4, 2017.

A memorial service for Mr. Timms will be conducted Saturday March 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Franklin Church of God with the Revs. Noel Forrester and Debbie Kendrick officiating.

The family will meet at the church from 1:00 – 1:30, and will accept guests from 1:30 – 2:00.

Mr. Timms was born June 1, 1962 in Carrollton to the late Charlie Timms and Minnie Bell Woodard Timms. He was of the Holiness faith, and loved to listen to gospel music.

A man who lived a simple life, Mr. Timms cherished the company of family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He liked to joke around, and it was this trait that made him easy to get along with. It was said that he never met a stranger, and he enjoyed meeting new people.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Tanner-Timms of Franklin; three daughters, Crystal Cox (Nate) of Villa Rica, Bridgett Summerville (Josh) of Roopville, and Amanda Miller (Louis) of Carrollton; one son, Thomas Timms (Rebecca) of Roopville; five grandchildren; four sisters, Martha Williamson of Bowdon, Willie Boyd (Edward) of Hogansville, Frances Dunlap (Jim) of Locust Grove, and Joann Taylor of South Carolina; two brothers, Henry Timms (Cherrie) of Gainesville and Charles Timms (Brenda) of Carrollton; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Gray and Linda Hand; and two brothers, Robert Timms and David Timms.
