Mr. Walter Vaughan, Sr.

Mr. Vaughan was born February 26, 1929 in Charleston, WV to the late Cletus Everett Vaughan and Mary Edith Walters Vaughan. He served his country in the US Air Force.

He loved to sing, and was an active member of his church choir until he could no longer climb the stairs to sit on stage. After moving to the Franklin area he became an active member of Franklin First Baptist Church.

He retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked in the paint and body work department. He brought his talents from the workplace to his home and enjoyed working on cars in his own body shop.

He dearly adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife and children. When he was younger he gathered the family for a cross country trip to visit his brother who lived in Washington State. He did this for many years, and it allowed him to visit almost every state in the United States and several of the provinces of Canada.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Vaughan of Jonesboro; three sons, Larry Vaughan (Pat) of Fayetteville, Walter Vaughan, Jr. (Denise) of Franklin, and Rick Floyd (Andrea) of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives and friends.
