Mrs. Christine Dukes Truitt

Mrs. Christine Dukes Truitt passed away Sunday, December 18 2011 at Franklin Health Care.

Mrs. Truitt was born September 12, 1931 to the late Linnie Ann Philpot and Henry Dukes, Sr. in Troup County, Georgia.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late J. T. Truitt who preceded her in death in 1987.

Christine was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Franklin, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jessie L. Dukes; and one granddaughter, Jessica Dukes.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Willie T. (Josephine) Truitt, Josie (Charles) Truitt, Charles (Brenda) Truitt, Kathleen Truitt, Sandra (Duncan) Chamblin; 18 loving grandchildren, 21 beautiful great-grandchildren; five sisters, Avio Hargrove, Willie Goodson, Julia Driskell, Elmira Dukes, Katherine Jones, two brothers, Henry Dukes and Hines Dukes; a special friend, Mollie Echols; and a host of many relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Franklin, Georgia with Pastor C. F. Reed, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

I’m so happy that you’re up in heaven with God and not suffering anymore. It hurt worse to see you there like that. You’ve made such an impact on my life and you practically raised me.
